Crystal Dawn Schick hails from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. After finishing a four year degree from the University of Regina in International Affairs, a minor in German language and a certificate in Global Leadership, she moved to Calgary to pursue her photography passion.
Crystal is a 2014 graduate from the photojournalism program at SAIT Polytechnic, where she was the news reporter then editor at the institute’s newspaper, The Weal.
An overall passion in humanitarianism, culture, travel, and people in general, is reflected in her freelance photography. She has worked with several NGO’s in foreign and sometimes dangerous countries. Most recently, she has freelanced on the frontlines in Kurdistan, Iraq.
Crystal’s work has been published in many major daily newspapers and magazines, as well as online publications and photo agencies.
When not travelling or freelancing, Crystal calls Calgary home and enjoys photographing everything, from weddings, parties, events, to new borns and families.
